Recent Reports of Spyware |
|
Recent
reports indicate that many users have trojans, java
applets, spyware, and key loggers 'invading' their computers
and monitoring the users behaviour, in some cases even
illegally sending passwords and private information
without the user being aware.
However, there are some simple steps that can be taken
to avoid this risk.
- Don't
download anything which isn't from a reputable supplier
- Regularly
check your machine for software which you don't recognise.
- Install
a spyware blocker from a reputable supplier, such
as Pest
Patrol
or Spy
Cop .

Hackers! |
Does
your computer sit behind a firewall? If you're connected
through your corporate network, then chances are you ARE
protected.
However, if you have a home computer, then you need to
ensure you have a firewall between you and the Internet
in order to prevent hackers from getting to you and your
data!
We recommend eTrust
EZ Armor from Computer Associates
for use as a firewall, particularly as it features built
in anti-virus (and is more than 25% cheaper that Nortons
Internet Security Suite 2002) |
